My owners surrendered me to a local animal shelter. They lost their home due to a flood and had to surrender me and my buddy to the local pound. my buddy was a young boxer and has already been adopted, but I didn’t stand a chance of being adopted at my age in an over-crowded shelter. The rescue coordinator sent out a plea to all the rescue groups in hopes that someone could help. Safe Haven was already full, but could not stand to see how heartbroken I was and they came to my rescue. I was very frightened and did not understand what was happening to me in the loud, chaotic environment of municipal shelter. Safe Haven know that it will be very hard to get a 16 year old adopted and ask that donations be made on behalf, as I will probably live my life out with Safe haven. Any donation on my behalf will help cover the cost of quality food, and medications for my arthritis.
I am a great dog. I am house trained, leash trained and enjoy car rides. I have partial hearing and vision loss, and arthritis in my knees and hips. For a 16 year old girl, I am in pretty good shape and am very spry. I get along with all dogs and anyone that wants to pet me.
If you would like to give an older gal a chance, please E-Mail my foster mom for more information about me.
